Counselor in Training Program,
an early internship opportunity for High School Students
Our program offers a leadership development internship for High School students entering 9th grade and 10th grade. The program prepare the candidates to become leaders, productive members of their community, and shape them as their best version as they prepare to apply to college.
Through workshops and hands-on experience, O-La-Moon-Do Camp's CITS learn about group leadership, program planning, communication, instructional activities, working with children, and health and safety. They will learn to create positive environments, as they facilitate team-building activities.
The CIT program includes:
-
Participation in sports and camp activities.
-
Language instruction (English, Spanish or French).
-
Internship in all aspects of a counselor job, including workshops on child development, and behavior management.
-
Public speaking and strategies for essay writing workshops.
-
Participation in a community service project.
-
College counseling workshop.
Being a CIT is a unique experience. The CITs learn and grow as a leader while they have fun. They learn to be a positive role model for younger campers.
